Joint Research Projects between China and Austria Applicant Guidelines 2024 Ref. No. SSTCRC2519


Project Cooperation Agreement:

"Agreement of the 13th Meeting of the China-Austria Joint Committee on Science and Technology Cooperation"


Fields and Directions:

1.Climate Change, Renewable Energy, and Sustainable Transportation: Focus on researching climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies, developing renewable energy technologies such as solar, wind, and hydro power, and exploring sustainable transportation solutions including electric vehicles and intelligent transportation systems.

2.Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment: Concentrate on areas like food safety and quality improvement, the development of bio-based products and biofuels, sustainable management of natural resources, advanced agricultural technologies, and environmental protection and restoration.

3.Medicine, Infectious Diseases, and Digital Health Solutions: Study medical research in areas such as new drug development, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, and the application of digital technologies in healthcare, including telemedicine and health information systems.

4.Biochemistry, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry: Conduct research in chemical synthesis, materials chemistry, and the study of chemical reactions and properties in biological and environmental systems.


Number of Projects to be Supported: No more than 15 projects.

Total Funding to be Supported: 30 million yuan.

Other Requirements:

1.The input efforts of the Chinese and Austrian cooperation units should be basically balanced.

2.The Chinese and Austrian cooperation units should sign a clear intellectual property agreement.

3.The implementation period of the project is in principle no more than 2 years.

4.If enterprises participate, they should provide matching funds at least equal to the government funding they receive.

5.Encourage the participation of young and female researchers.
